I'm a few days in. There was an adjustment period because I was coming off of antibiotics (Flagyl) for pouchitis. I thought it wasn't going to work but eventually my symptoms resolved. If this product is able to save me from a lifetime of Flagyl it will be a good thing. Probiotic products never worked for me in the past. I think the reason might have been the potency. I am a microbiologist. Most health food store products are 10^9 CFU order of magnitude. Visbiome is 4.5 x 10^11 (the higher one is 9x10^11, so very close to 10^12). It's easy to grow a culture up to 10^9 -- most beginning microbiologists can do this. It's a lot more costly and time consuming to grow up 10,000 to 100,000 times that much. This is why this product costs so much. So yes, it's expensive, but when you're trying to outcompete a lifetime of the wrong bacteria that your immune system is freaking out over, one dinky culture won't cut it. Even with the high potency, I still needed to take 4 doses per day to see an effect. But I expected no effect, so this is great news. I'm trying to get pregnant and many antibiotics are not safe, so I needed an alternative. This so far seems good. Hope it keeps working! You need something like this if you are going to do a candida cleanse right. You want this good bacteria, and a lot of it, to take the place of the yeast you are removing from your digestive system. I've tried a candida cleanse a couple times now and I think I've finally got a good system down.Unfortunately (depending on how bad your overgrowth is) is won't be very successful with out a sugar free, low/no carb diet. I tried a cleanse without dieting and just felt terrible for the entire month. You are just killing yeast every day that is regrowing from the sugar you feed it. A low carb diet works even better but if you can remove nearly all carbs it just makes the cleanse so much easier. Just eat meat and veggies during your cleanse and you're good. Milk Thistle supplements help you deal with any die off symptoms and make it easier on your liver.I divide my cleanse supplements after breakfast and lunch. They include coconut oil/caprylic acid, oregano oil, garlic pills, grapefruit seed extract, among others. Start with one natural anti-fungal and slowly add others over days so at one point you are hitting the yeast with at least 3 different types so it can't adapt. Then, maybe an hour before dinner, take the Visibiome. The yeast that has been killed throughout the day will hopefully be replaced with the good bacteria in the probiotics. And then your body can rest and absorb the probiotics while you sleep until you're ready to do it again the next day.Do this for at least a month. Take breaks or cut back on anti-fungal supplements if you are feeling really terrible. If your overgrowth is really bad you may need to do multiple cleanses over months. I've been doing one for nearly the entire year of 2020 and I'm finally starting to feel better than I have in a decade. (I was given Xifaxin 2 years ago which nuked my gut and made everything a lot worse)If you are getting bad reactions it's because the cleanse is working... don't give up. Just cut back and keep at it. You'll get there.Good luck.Works great for IBDMy order, which was well packaged and shipped, got various delays with Fedex and finaly arrived 10 days after shipping. After requesting I received my money refunded. The probiotics are sensitive to heat and are not optimal anymore, if not worthless. What did disturb me is that the included temperature indicator, which should turn red when the content has seen elevated temperatures during transport still showed white which means that the temperatures have not been elevated during transport. Even after leaving the indicator at room temperature for several days it still doesn't turn red! So what's the point and this indicator provides a false idea of security. Vendor? I can not say anything about the quality of the probiotics, but am glad I got refunded quickly.I think this really helped get my gut health on track, I have no medical evidence of that, but in general I feel better. But it is hard to drink, chalky.I cannot speak about whether the unflavored powder works because I have not taken it. I saw at least one other reviewer say not to buy from NutritionOTC because they do not include a temperature monitor. So, the first time I purchased was from OTC Counter. I purchased the capsules. OTC Counter sent the item properly packaged with a temperature monitor. I felt like I saw improvement of bowel symptoms after the first dose. I can take 8 capsules a day and only see minimal improvement because I have real bowel issues and inflammation, but these still worked better than any probiotic I have taken, I think. My girlfriend, on the other hand, can only take 1 or 2 of the capsules a day or she has gas and borders on diarrhea. With that said, we both feel the capsules work well. I just got an order of the powder from Nutrition OTC, which was an error on my behalf. I did not mean to purchase from them because I had read that they do not ship it properly. Well, those reviewers was right! They are still not shipping this probiotic correctly, and this is too expensive an item to purchase without verification that the bacteria are alive. The take away should be that this probiotic works, but do not purchase it from NutritionOTC unless you can confirm that they have started shipping it correctly.I developed multiple food sensitivities and chronic diarrhea after turning 60. After five years of debilitating diarrhea, multiple G.I. tests, elimination diets, avoiding many foods, and consultations with several specialists, the last physician recommended Visbiome. Visbiome Is the probiotic developed specifically for people with celiac disease. Although I don’t have celiac disease, a year of Visbiome healed my G.I. tract. I seldom have diarrhea, and I have been able to add back many of the foods I was previously unable to eat because they caused severe diarrhea. Visbiome is expensive to take regularly, but it’s worth it to have normal G.I. function and be able to eat what I want!Used for my cat with diabetes and gut problems.
