By replacing the housing of the high level brake light you remove the need to drill holes into the metal bodywork of the van which can often lead to issues with corrosion further down the line. It also helps keep the streamline design of the vehicle so you do not have an object sticking up above the roof that can get caught on things. Designed specifically for the 4th generation Ford Transit from 2014 if your passenger or cargo van looks similar to this with a brake light that is 38.5cm wide and 5cm high then its a direct replacement. Note this is not for the smaller Transit Custom, Connect or Courier for which we have other brake light cameras in our shop. Brake Light Functionality Maintained In all instances our brake light cameras maintain the functionality of your 3rd brake light. This Ford Transit dual camera here is a complete brake light replacement assembly. It includes a new LED high level brake light and you simply unplug your current unit and plug the wiring loom back into this unit on the 2 pin connector shown. Works whether your van is diesel, petrol or electric it uses the same wiring. It maintains a professional finish and OEM image for your light commercial vehicle, not an aftermarket / afterthought piece of poor retrofit DIY. In Operation If purchasing with one of our single monitor screen options below, then the wiring is design for your rearview camera to be on whilst driving, or at least whilst not in reverse gear. The parking camera facing down comes on instead when you select reverse gear and the monitor automatically switches over to this view. Our dual monitors let you have both views on show at the same time. You could if you wish with the dual monitors have both cameras wired to ignition live for continuous use rather than only on reverse. Adjustable Camera Angles As the size and design of the brake light housing allows, we have taken the opportunity to add a small amount of adjustment with a ball-socket for final alignment but as standard all our cameras have been designed to give what we believe is the optimum angle looking down at the rear bumper to make best use of those final few feet when reversing in limited space as well as a suitable view behind. You can buy our cameras on their own if you already have a compatible head unit you can plug them into or we offer a range of dashboard mounted and rear view mirror mounted monitors. Please note some modern inbuilt manufacturer supplied head units my not use a standard Phono/RCA input or may need ‘programming’ to switch the reversing camera option to On with the vehicles ECU management system so check this out. IF PURCHASED ON ITS OWN ADAPTOR CABLES AND PROGRAMMING WOULD BE REQUIRED TO USE WITH THE FORD SYNC 4 SYSTEM. Our Range Of Monitors The 4.3 inch dual dash monitor is sat nav sized, sits on an adjustable bracket which comes with a pad to adhere to the dashboard. It can also be turned around so it would be possible to adhere this to the windscreen if you wanted. When powered the screen stays blank until an image signal is received. Ideal for our dual rear camera systems when you can wire both cameras to 12v ignition to see both camera views side-by-side. Our Range Of Monitors Our 4.3 inch dual mirror monitor is designed to clip around an existing mounted rear view mirror. This works as a normal mirror until a picture signal is received and which point the screens hidden behind the mirror glass will come to life. Ideal for our dual rear camera systems when you can wire both cameras to 12v ignition to see both camera views side-by-side. Our Range Of Monitors The 7 inch dash monitor is certainly the more commercial looking solution giving a larger picture on a bracket that both tilts and swivels so you can locate it as suits your needs. The mounting bracket comes with an adhesive pad but it can also be screwed down to your dashboard. Our Range Of Monitors The 7 inch mirror monitor works as a rear view mirror until you select reverse gear at which point the screen will come on. When used with a dual camera the monitor will show your rear view camera and then swap to bumper view on selection of reverse gear. NOTE. This universal monitor includes both mounting options.
