By fortunate coincidence this blood pressure measuring product from COOCEER arrived from Amazon on the same day I was scheduled for a doctor’s visit. I skimmed the instructions, set it up, and brought it along. At the doctor’s my blood pressure was measured using a professional device and a stethoscope. It came in at 128 over 80. While waiting for my doctor to arrive I took my BP with this device. It displayed 130 over 80, pretty close to the doctor’s device. And, blood pressure can vary from one minute to the next. Once home I went through the documentation and self-tested a few more times (waiting several minutes between tests).Packed in a sturdy box, this monitor is made from high-quality durable plastic and has a quality heftiness to it. It requires four AA batteries, an indication of the considerable amount of power required by this small device to tighten the cuff sufficiently for accurate readings. My testing showed the cuff to be at least as tight as the BP measuring unit at my doctor’s office. And what a high quality cuff it is. I’ve owned small BP units in the past and always have had trouble with the cuffs. I could not get them tight enough or properly positioned on my arm. The cuff that comes with this device is made from a nylon material overlaid with very strong Velcro. It incorporates a metal bar at its fold-over point that facilitates tightening, making this cuff more effective than home units I’ve owned in the past. The unit’s LCD display shows the systolic and diastolic values plus pulse rate all in large numbers. I’m a senior and can read them easily without my glasses. In smaller characters are the user (1 or 2, depending on which of two people the unit is currently recording values for), as well as time and date.As a retired technical writer I can testify that the printed documentation is pretty good. It’s not quite American English but it is close – and far superior to most Chinese products. The type is large enough to be easily readable as long as I’m wearing my reading glasses; there are plenty of helpful illustrations; and the instructions for the product’s set-up and day-to-day use are comprehensive.I needed about a half-hour to fully acquaint myself with the product. Its feature set is rich enough that it’s worth the time to learn what it can do. For example, the unit can keep a record of your blood pressure readings, and separately record another person’s – perhaps your spouse. This is convenient and useful. (To switch users, press Set with the unit off. At the top left the current user, 1 or 2, is displayed. To change users press Set again. To exit without switching press the Start/Stop button.) When reviewing past readings for the currently active user (with the unit off just press the Memory button repeatedly), the unit displays the date and time of each reading – very convenient and if you need to monitor your BP closely, you’ll love it.Here’s a tip the documentation does not explain clearly: To get a summary of your last three BP recordings, with the unit off press the Memory button once. If you want to see individual readings, newest first, continue to press the Memory button. Each reading is accompanied by its number in the list of recordings. To get the most accurate results, follow the how-to documentation. Here’s some extra advice from Web MD: Make sure your upper arm is not covered by a sleeve. Sit upright in a quiet room, legs uncrossed, in a chair with your back against the backrest for five minutes, with your arm on the table in front of you, palm facing up. (You could check your Facebook while getting ready.) Once you’re nicely relaxed, put on the cuff as described in the doc. Proper preparation is essential for accurate and consistent readings. If you want to take another reading, wait at least five minutes before repeating the process. As with the best of the technology products I buy on Amazon, I am mystified at how this unit’s manufacturer can sell it for such a low price. This little gadget resonates quality and delivers the information I need.Time will tell whether it holds up. The low number of one-star reviews (mostly complaining of inconsistency but that might be due to inadequate preparation) is encouraging. I’ve learned not to buy any Amazon product with 10 percent or more of its reviews one-star. This product’s five percent one-stars is lower than average. If this monitor turns out to be short-lived or develops problems I’ll come back here and update my review. From everything I’ve experienced so far, I’ve got to give it maximum stars. The unit is compact, operates off of 4 AA batteries or a USB connector. It comes with a carrying bag convenient for storage and travel. It operates as stated, and appears to be accurate (I had blood pressure taken the day before at a doctor's office and the readings match.(Some small negative comments:1. Not Clear: The sales literature doesn't mention battery power, and the unit's documentation describes either battery or AC charger (wall wart!) power: not USB.2. The box states "Made in China" and apparently so is the documentation. The awkward sentence structure may be misleading to some, and merely odd to others.3. Metric vs English units: US users, only familiar with the "English System" may find the use of Metric cm confusing.4: Drawing not clear: The cuff placement drawings are a bit confusing, as whether or not the air channel to the cuff is covered over by the strap: it is.These very minor comments, can be rectified by a small rewriting of the Ad copy, documentation and redrawing some figures. The machine itself is just fine and works well. The cuff is big enough which is what i needed since my arms are on the bigger side. I'm in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy and really want to keep track of my blood pressure. This does the trick. I only gave it 4 stars because the first machine I got was clearly used. It didn't come in the original box, no carrying case or anything and the screen was scratched. It had merely been thrown in a generic brown box and shipped to me. I complained that I suspected the unit was used and I wanted a new one. I got it within 2 days and this one came all sealed and in its original box with the blue carrying case. So far I'm pleased with it.When I was diagnoised with stage 5 kidney disease the doctor requested that I take my blood pressure daily and report to him. His concern was that the blood pressure medicine was not doing what it was intended.I found it very difficult to take my blood pressure the conventional way, with a cuff and stethoscope.Using the Cooceer electronic blood pressure monitor has made the taking of my blood pressure a lot easier and faster than the old fashion way. Just put the cuff on your arm, press the start button and within a couple minutes you have your blood pressure and pulse reading.I can also go back and review past b/p readings if the doctor requests specific readings.I would recommend this electronic blood pressure monitor to anyone who needs to keep track of their blood pressure and wants an easy way to do it.This was a good value and amid all the virus problems easy and quick to get. The item arrived promptly and was very well packaged. The cuff is well made and durable. The machine works quickly and appears to be very accurate. My mom needs to keep a close eye on her blood pressure for medications and hers broke before the weekend. I was up and running again and able to check her regularly in no time. We have the piece of mind to know when her pressure is fluctuating do we can consult with the doctor and adjust her medications. The cuff and machine are easy to use and comfortable. May even buy another for a spare. The cuff is annoying to put on. The placement of the Velcro and the the metal “hook” make it hard to put on one handed. It’s also so tight I thought my arm was going to be bruised. When I tried to get it looser I continually received an error message. Now I see it’s “currently unavailable.” Wonder why??What I like about this blood pressure monitor is that I usually have high bp, but I had a very big scare this week because my bp dropped to 84/54, so my Dr. told me I needed to check it every day or at least every other day. So I looked up blood pressure monitors and this one was the only one approved by the FDA and a few others as well. It is very affordable, accurate, easy to read, but most important, it is easy for you to do it by yourself at home.
