This review is written after assembling this machine, using it for about three weeks and moving from place to another.- Packaging: this machine comes in two boxes: one that is very long to hold the base and the other to hold the rest of the machine parts, so be careful getting this item through the door and it's better to do so horizontally.- Assembling and carrying the item: before purchasing this item, I read the reviews carefully and many complained about its size and how hard it was to assemble. It is recommended on the instructions to have two people to carry and assemble it but it can really be taken care of by one person if necessary. I used to live alone in a studio room on the second floor, so there were stairs but the delivery person put it at my door by himself. I am a female, am about 5'5'' and 150lbs and was able to get it inside my studio room by myself and fully assemble it by myself. It took me about 3-4 hours to get it complete; the hardest part was the first step when I had to connect the two long wooden bars through the wooden piece in the middle where the seat goes. I recommend not to fully tighten the screws as you might need to adjust them or loosen them while assembling the machine and tight all screws all at once when finished assembling the whole machine. Shortly I had to move from my apartment and did not need to disassemble the machine and I put it in a 15' Uhaul after taking it down the stairs from the second floor to the truck by myself.- Tools and Equipment: it came with all tools and equipment needed to assemble it. However, it does say in the manual that a siphon should be included in the tools, but it did not. Instead, it came with a water pump that can be recharged along with a long rubber tube and a short stainless steel tube.- Water filling and consumption: following the directions and the label on the water tank, in order to not exceed the limit stated, it needed only about 15 liters of water (~ 4 gallons). I recommend using the short stainless steel tube to fill the tank and the long rubber tube to pump water into the tank.- Adjusting the machine to foot: this machine allows the user to adjust the foot holder according to the length of their foot, but I highly recommend using it while wearing boots or exercise shoes to be comfortable while using it and get the most out of rowing.- The most exciting part - Rowing: it is really fun and engaging to row this machine and I love the sound of the water that comes with it. The manual says to start with 5 minutes and then gradually increase for beginners, but I found that 5 minutes were not really enough to work the muscles, so I gave it a continuous 10 minutes of rowing and it worked great. The only backward I have and the reason I gave it 4 starts is that the belt keeps getting off the wheel, so to manage this I would have to make the rowing movement straight with both arms.-- Overall, it is absolutely a great water rowing machine for its price. I have done a lot of research before buying one and I am very happy to have made the decision of buying this one and I highly recommend it for everyone from all ages.Quality control seems to be an issue. One major "Rivet" was loose and made it impossible to tighten the bolt right above the handle area. Also the computer screen is displaying only partial digits. I was able to over come and take out the rivet, however the display error is super disappointing and annoying.Biggest downfall thou is the footrest. It doesn't stay in place. It keeps sliding all the time and disrupts training. I had to put in a few screws to secure it permanently, which in return makes it difficult to share it within the family due to different size feet. very sad!We were looking for a piece of cardio equipment for our home gym and this could not have delivered more on what we wanted. The water allows for vey quite work outs and the entire machine is stable and functional. As a former collegiate rower, I really want a Concept 2 erg, but that price tag (and wait list) is not ideal. I happened to find a 40% off code and had an Amazon gift card so I was able to purchase this for under $190. It took a while for this to ship, and the FedEx tracking number that was posted gave me information to an item that was delivered to an address in Indiana (I live in Oregon) weeks before I placed my order, so that was... concerning. I tried to contact the seller to get an accurate tracking number and never heard back, which made me feel like I was scammed. Reaching out to FedEx didn't help, either.Luckily, after the latest anticipated delivery date passed my tracking in FedEx updated with the correct tracking number and my rower was delivered a few days later.Putting this together was fairly simple. I live alone so even though it suggests two people to assemble, that's not an option for me. I was able to do it myself. I forgot to time how long it took, but I'd estimate it took about an hour although I was also distracted while on the phone with my mom-- and I did not fill the water tank until the following day. The directions aren't very clear, the diagrams in particular, but if you've put together IKEA or flat pack furniture, you'll be able to figure it out.I've only used it a few times and so far it's not the smoothest row. Keeping the straps on track the first few times is a little rough, and adjusting both the foot straps and footplates is a pain. The straps aren't long enough in my opinion and the footplates get stuck at a certain point and you *really* have to muscle them up to adjust. Luckily it's just me so as long as the locking mechanism holds, I shouldn't have to adjust them. Two things that are terrible (one is important and one isn't):Not important:- The cell phone holder: it's terrible. My iPhone is too heavy for it to hold up at a convenient height. Not a big deal, but annoying.Important:- The display can't measure stroke rate properly. I used to be in the stroke pair in my boat in college. I can ballpark where I am (plus, you know, you can count how many strokes you're doing in a minute although when I'm doing pieces I don't want to. That's the whole point of having a stroke counter). This thing was all over the place. I'm hoping I can fiddle around with it and get it to work but so far it appears that it has no idea how to measure stroke rate. In the middle of a pull it would jump around from 34 to 27 to 60 to 44... I didn't even look at anything else on the screen because I figured it would all be off and just focused on my phone (which I had to set on the tank) to watch my workout and follow the coach's strokes.Overall, I was able to get through a workout. My heart rate got up, I burned calories, etc. Is the machine perfect? Nope. But for what I paid, it gets the job done.it did come in 2 big boxes!Very easy to put together, and I have been rowing for that past 2 week and average of 30 minutes every day. Today one of the small wheels that go under the seat broke, I will contact the seller about this to see how I can get it replaced.Product was defective. Customer service was horrible to address the issue. Had to communicate with my cc company to dispute the claim to get my funds back.Great workout equipment for the time of pandemic homestay! I’ve always liked water resistance rowing machine and finally decided to get this one with a reasonable price. It arrived in 2 huge boxes but wasn’t hard to assemble at all. I’ve been using it in the past week and had a wonderful time exercising on it.
